Lenore Raphael is one of the world’s most critically acclaimed jazz pianists and she is once again gracing the Colorado Springs community with a performance at the Gold Room in Downtown Colorado Springs on Thursday, October 17th 2019 coupled with a Master Class at the Conservatory on Wednesday, October 16th.
“Jazz critics have compared her to Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans and even Thelonious Monk, but with all these influences, LenoreRaphael is just ONE thing…a great pianist!”…Ricky Miller, JazzUSA
Critics, jazz hosts and jazz lovers all agree that Lenore Raphael is one of the most Swinging Mainstream pianists today. Influenced by Oscar Peterson, Buddy Powell and Bill Evans, she has taken these influences and created her own recognizable sound and style.
Lenore has been coming to Colorado Springs to partner with the Colorado Springs Conservatory (CSC) for nearly 20 years now.
“ We are grateful for her friendship and her commitment to exciting and inspiring the students at the Conservatory all these years,” says Linda Weise, Founding CEO of the CSC.
Lenore will be performing with long time friends and artists Steve Hobbs on vibraphone, Ken Walker on bass & Jesse Simon on drums.
“We are thrilled to bring these artists to the Gold Room,” says Ashely Guinto, the Gold Room Manager. “The venue is just perfect for this performance.”
Lenore will also host a Master Class at the Colorado Springs Conservatory on Wednesday, October 16th at 7 PM at the Conservatory.
The class is free to the public, but registration is required online.
