Josh Franklin-Wolfe
Having performed on Broadway for nearly 2 decades, Josh Franklin is now making waves as a director, playwright, composer and lyricist. His writing credits include, “Royal Blood” (composer/lyricist), a hip hop Vampire musical comedy, “Jack: A Moral Musical Tale” (co-writer/director), “The Consoling Mechanism” (playwright/composer/lyricist), a story about a girl struggling with her new reality as a person with disabilities- selected for NAMT 2020, Theater Accelerator 2022 and the New Works Festival at Phoenix Theatre Co 2023, and lastly “Searching For Santa” (playwright/composer/lyricist), a fun holiday musical for all. Favorite directing credits include “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown” (PPAS in NYC), “ART” (Kinship Landing) “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder” (Little Theatre of the Rockies) and “The Consoling Mechanism” (NYC) starring Drew Gehling.
Josh has co-produced two solo albums (“Josh Franklin,” and “Spent”) which can be found on any streaming platform. His acting credits include Broadway: The Prom, Anything Goes, Ghost, Legally Blonde and Grease. Off Broadway: Cyrano with Peter Dinklage. Tours: Bob Gaudio (Jersey Boys), Danny Zuko (Grease), Chad (All Shook Up), and Billy Crocker (Anything Goes) which garnered him a Helen Hayes Award nomination for outstanding actor in a leading role. Albums: Josh Franklin, Spent, Grease, Anything Goes, The Prom. Josh loves NYC but resides mostly in Colorado Springs these days with his two dogs and his husband, John T. Wolfe. They created, designed and are the owners of “Icons,” the first gay piano bar in Colorado Springs which celebrates queer culture through iconic influencers and live entertainment. Icons has been featured in Forbes, 5280, Canvas Rebel and was voted “Best New Bar” and “Best Overall Bar” in its first year.
