About the Artist….Sandy Pfeifer
Colorado native Sandy Pfeifer loved creating artwork from the time she was a small child. Back then her favorite subject was horses and as she grew older she loved riding her horse along the Highline Canal and competing in small rodeos. Her love of horses continues to this day being active in Westernaires Harness team and she volunteers her time helping caretake the draft horses of Westernaires.
Sandy graduated from Metro State College with a combined degree in Art, Music and Psychology and then spent a year in a master’s Program at the Naropa Institute. She became passionate about a watercolor class with the great Master, Don Coen, and has been participating in open studio at Foothill’s Art Center and The Art Student League of Denver ever since. Now an accomplished oil and pastel painter, she has exhibited in a number of venues such as the Pikes Peak Performing Arts Center, Denver University, The State Colorado Watercolor Society Show, The Foothill’s Art Gallery and recently received an award from Cernter For The Arts Evergreen. She was invited to create two segments of cover art for “The County Register” newspaper which is circulated in both Colorado and New Mexico. She has done seven Summer Art Markets with ASLD and most recently did a winter show at Foothill’s Art Gallery. She also has been busy creating commission pieces mostly for Westernaire’s kids and their horses.
