Shane Groothof is a Colorado native classical guitarist and composer.
He performs throughout the Colorado Springs area as a soloist and most notably in the Gioscia – Groothof duo.
He is the executive community liaison and a lead mentor at Colorado Springs Conservatory.
Shane’s original compositions are a blending of Progressive Rock and Western Classical music. He also composes pedagogical classical guitar ensemble music for his students.
Shane graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor of Music (BM) in classical guitar in 2012. During his time at the university, he studied with Jonathan Leathwood and Jason Olson. He has also participated in masterclasses with Martha Masters, Johannes Möller, and Judicaël Perroy.
