The Colorado Springs Conservatory (CSC) is pleased to present a collaborative performance project where young minds, bodies and creative souls come together to share their work. Students of the CSC submit original music to their student colleagues at various dance studios where in turn, those students choreograph the works. All come to life live at Stargazers Theater on Sunday, March 19th at 6:00pm (doors at 5:30pm).
“The process of creating music and sharing it to be transformed to movement is quite profound of the young artists involved. We hope that they can in turn take this very process to their adult experiences wherever they may land and continue the basic and fundamental act of creating new art- which is really essential to any community”, said Linda Weise, CEO of the CSC.
Weise approached both Jan Johnson, Executive Director of Ormao Dance and Patty Hoffman of the Ballet Society of Colorado Springs eleven years ago about such collaboration and all three have been supporting the effort since. Along the way other studios have afforded this incredible and unique performance project to their students as well; Kemper Dance, Revolution Dance Company, Krithika School of Dance, Peak School of Dance and Gotta Dance Studio.
“It is a remarkable journey of creativity, trust and mutual respect that this project allows students to experience”, said Johnson.
Tickets available at the Stargazers Theatre website.
