Musical Theatre Intensive (MTI)  July 6 – Aug 2, 2026

This summer we are excited to hold our fourth annual, four-week musical theater intensive for high school performers, actors, and musicians! This is an excellent opportunity for all students looking for an immersive musical experience and is open to all students in the Pikes Peak Region. 

Soprano
Pre-k – Kindergarten

June 8-12

9am – 12pm: Soprano Theater: Critter Creators - One Week Camp (Developmental Studio)

This one’s for the animal lovers! Throughout the week, campers will act, sing, dance, and explore costumes, props and puppets all inspired by all their favorite critters. This hands-on camp will be a great introduction for your young performer to all the creative elements that go into putting on a play. At the end of the week, family and friends will be treated to a showcase performance created entirely by the campers themselves—a true celebration of their hard work and creativity.

Do you love stories? Have you ever wanted to jump inside a book and become part of the adventure? Now’s your chance! Storytellers on Stage is a fun and exciting camp where kids get to explore theater and bring stories to life with acting, movement, and imagination! Throughout the week, your child will learn to tell stories on stage using their bodies, voices, and imaginations to make characters come alive. They’ll play games to develop an understanding of theater fundamentals and explore creative movement to bring stories to life in new ways. Through engaging activities and group exercises, your young storyteller will become more comfortable performing in front of an audience in a caring, supportive environment. On the last day of camp, our performers will shine in a special performance showing off everything they’ve learned! By the end of the week, your child will have gained a love for storytelling, built confidence, and had an unforgettable experience performing in front of an audience. It’s the perfect first step into the world of theatre that will inspire their creativity for years to come!

1 – 4pm: Alto Theater: Underwater Adventures - One Week Camp (Developmental Lab)

Campers will journey under the sea as they explore stories and songs inspired by aquatic life and mythical creatures from film and stage favorites. Throughout the week, students will sing, act, and dance their way through a production devised and created by their own imaginations! From crafting colorful costumes and props, to building oceanic-themed set pieces, your child will take center stage in every part of the production process. This hands-on camp is sure to be an exciting introduction for your young performer to all the creative elements that go into putting on a play. Family and friends won’t want to miss our underwater adventure on Friday as students showcase all they have learned throughout the week.

Let’s go to the movies! We are rolling out the red carpet for this camp! Everyone is a star for the week as we invite young performers to step into the spotlight to act, sing, and dance to songs from some of our favorite films. Throughout the week, campers will immerse themselves in the magic of the motion picture, playing theater games, learning iconic choreography, working with a green screen, and devising their own blockbuster preview. As they bring big-screen stories to life, they’ll build confidence, learn to express themselves creatively, and form new friendships—all in a supportive and exciting camp environment. The grand finale? A star-studded showcase where your child will dazzle family and friends with their newfound skills—an unforgettable performance worthy of Hollywood applause! 9am – 12pm: Exploratory - Strum School: Beginner Ukulele Camp (Instrumental Studio)

Unlock your child’s musical potential this summer with a fun and engaging introduction to the ukulele! Strum School introduces 3rd–5th graders to essential ukulele techniques, including basic chords, strumming patterns, and beginner-accessible popular songs. With no prior music experience required, our mentors foster a supportive environment where students can explore the joy of learning this versatile instrument.
By the end of the week, your child will have the confidence to play the ukulele independently so they can continue to develop their skills long after camp is over. Whether it’s practicing and performing a favorite tune or experimenting with creating new songs, they’ll leave ready to make music on their own. Through individual guided instruction and whole-group activities, students will develop their musical abilities alongside their peers while discovering the art of self-expression. The week concludes with a performance on the final day, where students will showcase their new ukulele skills for friends and family. Come explore piano performance, technique, and note reading in a fun and interactive setting. Students will build piano artistry through collaborative song-learning activities, engaging technical explorations, and stimulating reading exercises. Additionally, students will learn musicianship, listening, and improvisation skills that will enhance and complement their piano learning experience. No prior piano experience is required.

July 6-10

9 – 12pm: Exploratory Songwriting - One Week Camp (Music Production Wing)

Do you love to Sing? Do you write poetry or journal? Songwriting Camp may be the right fit for you! We will spend five days covering the basics of songwriting, including learning about storytelling, rhyme scheme, and song structure. With the help of our Mentors, students will write an original song which they will perform on Friday at 12:00pm at the Conservatory. Students will leave camp with a high quality live recording of their performance. No musical experience necessary.

9am – 12pm: Exploratory Music Production - One Week Camp (Music Production Wing)

Ready to spend the week in the recording studio? Join us for Music Production Camp, where we will learn the basics of music production and audio recording! Students will have full access to our professional recording studio as well as the music production computer lab, where we will learn skills like audio engineering, recording vocals with microphones, using electronic and software instruments, making beats, working with audio samples, and more. Students will use the professional recording and production software Logic Pro to arrange and mix their music into highly polished finished songs, all of which will be digitally shared with students and families at the end of the week. Camp culminates with a listening party on Friday, where everyone will share their work with peers and parents. All musical styles are welcome, though no musical experience is necessary.

9am – 12pm: Exploratory MT – Madagascar a Musical Adventure: KIDS - Two Week Camp ( Developmental Lab)

Ready to break into the world of musical theater? This two-week musical theater camp is for any young performer that enjoys being on stage, singing, dancing, or acting. While learning about these disciplines, students will develop creativity, self-confidence, teamwork, and the basic skills and foundations to be a successful performer. Each day will bring new acting games, songs to sing and dances to dance, culminating in a final performance on the last day of camp of the show “Madagascar – A Musical Adventure KIDS”. If your student loves being on stage, this is the place for them to have fun and explore what they love! Come join us and “Move it, move it”!

Over five days, students will dive into lyric writing, storytelling, chord progressions and melodies, and learn how to combine all of these into the best song possible. This is the perfect time to write your first song, or your 100th! With the help of our Mentors, students will write an original song which they will perform on the last day of camp. Students will leave camp with a high quality live recording of their performance. No musical experience necessary.

Are you ready to take your singing to the next level? Do you love listening to groups like Pentatonix, Voctave, VoicePlay or love the movie Pitch Perfect? If so, A Capella camp is the place for you! A capella camp will bring singers together as an ensemble to work on developing vocal skills in contemporary, pop, and jazz styles with no instrumental accompaniment. Singers will improve their abilities to sing in harmony while also learning the art of vocal percussion (beatboxing), and how to arrange songs for the group, analyze lyrics, and use microphones to effectively amplify and blend their voices as an ensemble. The camp will conclude with a performance showcasing the a capella skills you have gained during the week as a vocal ensemble.

If you love musical theatre and performing, then come join us on Bikini Bottom as we bring The SpongeBob Musical to life. In this two-week camp, performers will hone their craft on the journey from audition to final performance. Performers will build ensemble skills and gain self confidence while learning about acting and vocal techniques, dancing and auditioning, all while preparing for the final show. While rehearsing we will also delve into the technical side of the show, talking about costumes, sets and the backstage life. This is a great camp to prepare students for the next step in their performance goals or for anyone who wants to enjoy a moment in the spotlight. “We’re Bikini Bottom Bound” – See you there!

1-5pm: Foundational and Preparatory Piano: Music for Silent Film

Step into the magic of early cinema and become the composer behind the screen! In this exciting piano camp, students will bring a silent film to life by creating and performing their own musical soundtrack. Together, students will break the film into scenes, explore the mood and emotion of each moment, and choose music that perfectly matches the action on screen. The week culminates in a thrilling live performance, where students play alongside the film for family and friends on the final day.
Along the way, students will strengthen piano technique, performance skills, and note reading in a fun, interactive environment. Through collaborative song-learning activities, creative technical explorations, and engaging reading exercises, students will build confidence and artistry at the keyboard. Camp activities also emphasize musicianship, active listening, and improvisation—skills that enhance musical understanding and inspire creativity.
Whether composing suspense, humor, or drama, students will experience the joy of storytelling through music in this unforgettable piano adventure!

Ever wondered who is behind the microphone for your favorite animated characters or how the voice overs for a commercial or audio book are recorded? Join us for a week-long camp exploring the ins and outs of voice over work. The immersive camp will touch on vocal acting skills, character voices and technical mic techniques and recording processes for animation, video games, commercials and audiobooks. The camp will culminate with a demonstration of what we have learned on the last day.

Students will develop skills such as writing chord progressions to evoke different moods, composing memorable melodies, using rhythm to create dramatic energy, and more. We will primarily use software instruments and other electronic techniques to compose, though students with experience playing acoustic instruments are encouraged to incorporate their instrumental skills into their work as well. We will spend five days learning the creative and technical sides of podcasting, including selecting topics, researching and writing, interviewing, recording, editing and more. All students will leave camp with a digital recording of their brand new podcast to share with friends and family. Join us on Friday for a showcase of students’ original work!

1 – 5pm: Preparatory Rock Band Camp - One Week Camp (Instrumental Studio)

Calling all Rockers! Rock Band Camp is a 5-day intensive where students form bands & learn iconic rock songs from different eras. Students will create a set, learn the tunes, rehearse & perform two rock shows on the last day of camp! Other topics covered include: how to make DIY merch, what it takes to book shows locally, and steps to becoming a touring band. All skill levels are welcome. Students will have the opportunity to experience guitar, drums, bass, keyboard, and singing!

Do you want to learn how to nail a cover song note for note? Would you rather put your own spin on it? Either way, Cover Camp is the place for you! We will be spending a week singing covers of our favorite songs while learning about all of the different aspects and approaches to performing songs by other artists. Students will learn how to break a song down to its fundamental parts and build it into something that is totally their own. Throughout the week they will analyze famous cover renditions of songs, learn how to put a song in the right key for their voices, and so much more. At the end of camp students will perform a cover of their choosing and leave with the skills necessary to do it again on their own!

A Positive Note (APN)

This summer “A Positive Note” (APN) is putting on a show! APN invites students with any form of disability, ages 14 – 35, to join us for an unforgettable week of musical theater as we perform scenes and songs from The SpongeBob Musical! Over five days, participants will develop singing, dancing, and acting skills while exploring the joy of performing on stage. Supported by mentors who understand the different needs (and opportunities) that intellectual and physical disabilities present, we will help your student build self-confidence, working as a team to create a theatrical experience that celebrates what is unique about all of us. On the final day of camp, families and friends are invited to enjoy a free showcase featuring scenes and songs from The SpongeBob Musical.

Come celebrate creativity, individuality, and the magic of theater with us this summer!

Private Lessons

Offered June 1-July 31st

CSC private lessons are scheduled based on mentor availability. Private lessons must take place on-site at CSC. All scheduling, canceling, and rescheduling of private lessons is to be done directly through CSC . CSC mentors will not directly contact CSC students or families for scheduling. The Program director will make every effort to place students with a private mentor that will best suit the student’s individual needs.

Children under ten should build basic musical skills before branching to other instruments or to vocal lessons.
