Dr. Eliana Murphy-Ellis is a member of the piano faculty at the Colorado Springs Conservatory and the music and drama teacher at Corpus Christi Catholic School, as well as the director of the St. Cecilia Schola Cantorum, a youth choir program at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
She received her Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) degree in Piano Performance from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). Her DMA thesis, completed under the supervision of Dr. Bruce McClung, is titled, “An Analytical Comparison of the Variation Movement from Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Sonata in E Major, Op. 109 to Johann Sebastian Bach’s Aria mit verschiedenen Veränderungen, BWV 988 (‘Goldberg Variations’).”
While completing her doctoral coursework, she received a full graduate scholarship and secondary piano teaching assistantship at CCM. She also received a B. M. in Piano Performance with Highest Honors in 2003 and an M. M. in Piano Performance in 2005 from the University of Colorado-Boulder. In her spare time, Eliana enjoys spending time with her husband and family, reading, and volunteering at Corpus Christi.
