Exploratory Program Details
During the Exploratory years, each student will be introduced to every discipline that CSC has to offer. The goal is to guarantee that students experience the breadth of opportunities in the performing arts so they can discover the discipline that most speaks to them. Piano, voice, theatre, music theory, percussion, recorder, movement, strings, ukulele, improv, music production, composition, songwriting, and devised work will all be explored during these three years. Exploratory students will have the opportunity to perform in plays, music ensembles, new works, and school wide concerts and events.
Thirty-minute lessons are included in the exploratory package.
Exploratory 1 *First-Year Exploratory Students Only*
Designed to help incoming students discover their path in the arts, Exploratory 1 is for all first-year Exploratory students. Piano, voice, theatre, music theory, percussion, recorder, movement, strings, ukulele, improv, music production, composition, songwriting, and devised work will all be explored during these three years. Exploratory students will have the opportunity to perform in plays, music ensembles, new works, and school-wide concerts and events.

Advanced Exploratory *Returning Exploratory Students Only*
Returning Exploratory students will be invited to join Advanced Exploratory for more advanced classes and training. Choices for individual study include: piano, ukulele/guitar, violin, and percussion. We intentionally do not offer voice lessons to this age group. In our experience, private instruction in voice can often be detrimental to the natural maturation of the voice, so we choose to celebrate vocal work in their group classes.
