The Colorado Springs Conservatory was present at both the Bridge Dedication and construction Ribbon Cutting for the CDOT Cimmaron Interchange Project.
The project took just 31 months to complete.
The CSC students were present at the groundbreaking nearly three years ago and this past week had the privilege to be present at it’s completion.
The bridge was dedicated in honor of Lt. Downing, a 104 year old US Navy veteran. He is the oldest surviving member of the WWII Pearl Harbor attack and lives here in Colorado Springs.
Ian Ferguson, CSC Program Director played the National Anthem on the trumpet at this historical occasion.
Two days later the Colorado Springs Conservatory was present at the Ribbon Cutting for the entire Interchange project .
CSC Founding CEO, Linda Weise was asked to write an original song for the occasion.
CSC alumni, Ben and Aaron Bubeck and David Musante wrote the music for the ballad type lyrics. Students Baylee and Sam Bollinger and Stella Garner performed as well.
City, State and Federal officials were on hand to celebrate this historical project, one of the largest in our State’s history.
