Why Study Theater At The Colorado Springs Conservatory?

Distinguished Mentors: Our pedigreed mentors and world-renowned guest artists have a gift for teaching, a deep passion for the arts and a abiding commitment to each Conservatory student. Founding Executive Director Linda Weise, an Oberlin Conservatory and Juilliard graduate, sets the bar high and encourages students to reach their full potential.

International Distinction:

The Conservatory is designated a Royal Conservatory Founding School based on the rigor of our curriculum, and has been recognized as an Arts Schools Network Exemplary School for administration and operations.

Instrumental Music Curriculum:

Instrumental music training includes music theory, composition. Technique is taught within historical context focusing on the humanities. All students are required to take piano as a foundational component to understanding music. Students may select the instrument of their choice, which range from trumpet to harp to electric guitar.

Individuality and Mutual Respect:

The Conservatory offers a rare and nurturing setting in which your student can thrive without being judged or redefined. Comraderie among peers offers safe haven during formative years and the opportunity for sterling friendships.

Community Advocacy:

Conservatory students and faculty perform at more than 300 community events each year.

Students gain performance experience, while the public enjoys relevant and often original compositions. Life skills such as poise, public speaking, and self-confidence are developed through this civic engagement.

Creative Leaders:

From the board room to the operating room to the green room, our alumni excel because they have been trained to strive for exellence and think out-of-the-box. 100% of our CORE after school students go on to the universities, colleges and conservatories of their choice, often with significant scholarships.

Partner Programs:

The Conservatory partners with school districts to provide daytime arts enrichment classes targeting at-risk populations. Often these students receive scholarships to also attend the after school program.

Located just off the Cimarron Exit of 1-25 at 415 South Sahwatch Street in downtown Colorado Springs, The Conservatory is easy to access from anywhere along the front range. Home is a freestanding building with 18,000 square feet of dedicated space in living color.
