Open to all Pre K (4yrs) -2nd grade students
The CSC Novice program is designed for our youngest students who are just starting to explore music and theater. The Novice program includes:
Novice Theater – An introduction to Theater for our youngest students with an emphasis on general stage direction, character work, prop work, costume work, vocalization, story, theater games, songs, and short performances. Designed to spark interest and be a stress free and fun way to inspire learning and garner an interest in the performing arts. Each class works to perform an end of semester/ end of year work that incorporates all of the tools the students have used throughout the class.
Novice General Music
- Voice – Students will learn Kodaly Solfege and sing simple songs to enhance their learning in a small classroom environment (5-7 students)
- Rhythm – Students will learn the basics of rhythm and note reading and apply them to a variety of percussion instruments and body movement.
- Music Appreciation – Students will have the opportunity to interact with some of the great classical composers and their music through movement, story and listening activities in a small classroom environment (5-7 students).
Novice Private Lessons – Our youngest students take a private lesson in piano or violin. The goal of these lessons is to lay the foundations of being a musician. Learning the basics of music reading, tone production, technique, practicing, and interacting with a private teacher.
